Welcome Message from KGNS Pesident
Dear Members and Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Korean Gerontological Nursing Society(KGNS), which I am honored to preside.
With its over 1,000 members, the KGNS is a leading academic association which aims at developing high quality and diverse education, research, and practice in the Gerontological nursing since established in 1998. Its journal (JKGN) is an international journal by being indexed on CINAHL in 2016 and Scopus in 2020. As a member society of the Korean Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics since 2018, KGNS has been actively exchanging with Korean elderly-related academic organizations.
South Korea will become a super-aged society by 2025, gerontological nursing, therefore, plays an especially crucial role in improving the quality of life and healthcare system for older adults. The KGNS will do our best to achieve greather with the missions as follows.
First, we will expand the role of gerontological nursing in diverse environments including both clinical settings and communities. Through developing practical training programs and promoting policy research, we will have significant contributions to the development of health policies for older Korean.
Second, we will actively cooperate with domestic and international organizations, advancing innovative research and educational activities.
Lastly, pursuing to be a recognized journal indexed in internationally, we will make JKGN reputable as a prestigious international journal.
The KGNS express thanks to the generous contribution of former presidents, executives, and members over the last 25 years. Don’t hesitate to be one of those.
